PROJECTS
This section lists the projects carried out by Cantiere Corpo Luogo from 2009 until now. Between the workshops, residencies and exhibitions, there is a working method that stands out for us. It is an approach to curating that we consider a real and proper performative action. In creating our ‘modus operandi’ "Continuum", we involve artists in seminars, conferences and experimental meetings by encouraging them to bring forth their ideas thanks to our reflected proposal. This proposal is a collaboration between philosophers, psychologists, historians and scholars of various kinds. The immersion of the artists into the core of the matter - a process we perceive as urgent to investigate – leads to exhibitions, reflections and new thought compositions. The results are able to form fragments of a vital contemporary art universe and the communities that host the proposed artistic events. The first exhibitions that are a result of our modus operandi “Continuum” were Ecology of Mind (based on the study of Gregory Bateson) and Espansioni/Contrazioni (based on a study of Alexander Lowen).
Punti di bilanciamento possibile
"Punti di bilanciamento possibile" is a project lead by Cantiere Corpo Luogo inside The Venice Glass Week. The two artists Penzo+Fiore open their own studio for the first time with an exhibition which task is the research for a balance between contemporary art and the traditional Murano's glass production. Some of their artistic works about this complex subject are shown to the public. In the exhibition there is also Interference pattern, a new project in collaboration with Patrizia Polese, and the presentation of the book Il senso del vetro.

G.I.T.A.
G.I.T.A. is a project lead by Cantiere Corpo Luogo inside the MetaForte's event "Liberi Passaggi" at Forte Treporti. We wanted to create a time and a space where a group of artists, curators and critics can informally talk together about a common idea of resistance in art. G.I.T.A., acronym for "Guru - Intellectuals - Tribe - Artists", is like a game of art played in the time of a daily journey, with an exhibition of works.

Frammenti di Murano
"Frammenti di Murano - Contemporary art as a reconstruction of relationships" is a project lead by Cantiere Corpoluogo and m.a.c.lab. Ca' Foscari, with the partnership of Fondazione Berengo in Murano, focused on the main theme of the conflict. The task is to go deeper inside the argument through a dialogue between artistic production, business world and academic study, starting from the Murano's reality as a first step.

Casa de burros
In 2013, Cantiere Corpo Luogo launched a residential program for artists who needed to find an isolated place suspended in time. Daily needs were dictated by the rhythm of nature and the animals which – in turn – were able to completely rewrite the values of people accustomed to living in civilization. Amongst the artworks and farm animals, a series of exhibitions, performances and workshops took place.

Controzona
Contro Zone was an area of thought that focused on the ideas of relation, of body and of city. It created connections capable of generating thoughts that converge through the focal point of contemporary art.
In 2013, this reservoir of ideas coagulated and gave shape to a series of exhibitions, talks, performances and conferences. The common theme was the body in relation to the context of Mestre (a city just on the outskirts of Venice). [Read more] |
Parco del contemporaneo
Parco del Contemporaneo is a project that developed at Forte Marghera, a very interesting and particular area between Venice and the mainland. Cantiere Corpo Luogo was called upon to find a solution to revive and organise the presence of contemporary art within Fort Marghera. The proposed project launched a new expressive platform for artists, curators, collectives of contemporary art and performance art.

forte marghera - mestre
From 2009 to 2012 Cantiere Corpo Luogo is granted a space inside the area of Forte Marghera, a star-shaped island between Venice and Mestre. Within these years, the area’s identity was linked to a series of art-related topics. Our work and projects contributed to the development of a space enhanced by our own artistic work, conferences, residencies, workshops, exhibitions and much more.
These were years of intense collaboration and deep understanding of Mestre’s reality, unbeknownst to us prior to this experience. |
3d GALLERY - mestre
From 2009 to 2012 Cantiere Corpo Luogo manages 3D Gallery in Mestre-Venice in collaboration with fine art consultant Sara Sist. In the first year, the gallery focused on showing artists who alternate the visual language of art with the use and exploration of the body. In this context, exhibitions of painting, photography, installation and performance were presented. In the second year, the language of collage is explored thanks to two collectives dedicated to the world of cut & paste and the outstanding participation of the mini-gallery of Matthew Brussard.
As of 2011, exhibitions related to projects from con-fine art magazine and collaborations with other curators started to take place. |
